It's too big for any box a human mind could envision. You can't say "this is always the way things are". There is no one "right" way to be in love. If you are in love, you will know it. Even if you try to deny it, it will catch up with you eventually. If the one you love loves you back, it is the best feeling in the world. If they don't, it can crush you.
When you're in love, you always want to be with that person, and you want to make them happy, any way you can. When they're sad, it can feel like you're dying inside, when they're happy, it makes you happy too.
