When something (usually video game) gets killed so hard and so fast that it/they disappear before you even realize it, just like the town of Roanoke.

That n00b thought he'd play Starcraft by sending marines at the banelings. That army got straight Roanoke'd.

I was running right behind Gary in Call of Duty 4 when he turned the corner and vanished. I think he got Roanoke'd

Player 1- "Where did the rest of the team go??"
Player 2 - "I think they got Roanoke'd"

Player 1 - What happened to that swarm of Mutalisks earlier?
Player 2 - Oh, they met up with my Thors and got Roanoke'd.
