noun: established and recognized conduct for placement on an escalator, namely standing on the right side of the step to permit individuals seeking to walk up the steps to pass on the left.
During rush hour, substantial amounts of people are riding up and down the escalators of this subway station. Fortunately, everyone gets to where they need to go in a timely manner because people adhere to escaletiquette.

She observed good escaletiquette when she stepped to the right side of the escalator, permitting the gentleman behind her to alight the steps.
