Conundrum

Origin: Pseudo-latin, used in learned social circles in Oxford University as humor, slang for "wit" or "pun" jokes, first known use 1596. Basically, answering a question with a pun, riddle, or joke. More modern usage generally refers to a difficult or complex riddle.

(In biology lab) Jim: "Hey John, I was disecting this robin, and I seem to have misplaced it's head. Have you seen it?"
John: "There you go, with your bird-brained schemes, methinks you have lost your mind!"
Jim: "Would you stop your silly conundrums and beak-flapping and help me find my dearest robin!"

Council

Derogatory term used to describe people of low social-class. It's very similar to the term Chav. Also used to describe something that looks cheap or tacky.

It's based on the fact that poor people would tend to live in subsidised housing in the UK known as a council estate. Council estates have improved a great deal in the past 10-20 years but some are still suffering from anti-social behavour brought about by Chav and Urban wannabee behaviour by kids and young adults who are simply bored and lacking identity or a sense of community.

John: Oh my! How much gold does she think she can fit around her neck?
Steve: Mr T could pull it off but she's just council.

The process through which, Americans abuse their language, and generate words through random conjunctions. Usually redneck in origin, these words eventually become acceptable in society as a whole.

I.E. Ya'll/y'all; as in y'all come back now ya' hear?
you'ins see y'all.
fixinta; as in fixinta go put my gun away.
gosinda; as in 2 gosinda 4 twice.

By god if american conjunctivitis won't be the death of the English language...

Cajun

An ethnic group mainly living in Louisiana, mostly constituting descendants of Acadian exiles (French-speaking settlers from Acadia, New Brunswick or Nova Scotia, in maritime provinces in Canada). Today, the Cajuns make up a significant portion of south Louisiana's population, and have exerted a great impact on the state's culture.

Boudin's my favorite cajun food.
