a girlfriend/boyfriend, husband/wife or partner who is essentially "loses" their mate for 8 or 9 months due to constant and rigorous training that's involved in the ironman triathlon.

Kara's become an Ironman Widow ever since Pierre started his training 5 months ago. She barely sees him!

Derby Widow

The girlfriends, boyfriends and spouses of Roller Derby Girls call themselves “Derby Widows”. The term originates from the fact that Roller Derby is a sport as well as a faith-based initiative and can be very time consuming, leaving ones life partner "widowed".

If you are a girl dating a Derby Girl, don’t try and fight it. You will probably become one too.

If you're a guy dating a Roller girl, either accept your derby widow status, or try to support her by supporting the league as a volunteer.

George: I just made the finals!! My deck is sooooo ridiculous!!

Dan: Sorry babe, I can't go to Andrew and Megan's wedding, there's a PTQ this weekend.

Renee: Are you kidding me?
Dan: It doesn't matter, he just got on the train, she'll be a Magic Widow in 6 months, and they'll be divorced in a year anyways.

The term used for devoted girlfriends and wives who lose their partners to the Call of Duty (COD) games. They may sometimes have mere words muttered to them in a whole 24 hours, whilst online gameplay is active.

Any of a number of dishes brought to a recent widow by friends and family, usually in the form of a casserole or lasagne, the idea being that the widow shouldn't have to cook for herself and the countless visitors she will have during the first week or so of mourning.

Notably used on Grey's Anatomy.

After the death of her husband, Teddy was given so many widow casseroles she didn't know what to do with them.
