Toriyama Handjob

A term referring to the practice in media (notably in shounen manga/anime) of powering up side characters off screen to bring them up to par, or surpassing, the protagonist. These powerups happen regardless of sense, often with little explanation. Named for Dragonball creator Akira Toriyama due to how often it happens in the Dragonball media.

Coined by youtube user PlagueofGripes in his video on the treatment of the character Tien from Dragonball, highlighting how everyone in-series gets a Toriyama Handjob except Tien.

The Torygraph is a nickname for the UK national newspaper, the Telegraph, because of its consistent support of Tory policies. The name was given to it by the satirical magazine Private Eye.

Even Maggie thinks the Torygraph is right-wing.

A phenomenal actor and producer who has starred in various films like Brothers, the Spider-Man Trilogy, The Great Gatsby, and Seabiscuit. He is especially known around the world for his definitive portrayal of Spider-Man/Peter Parker. Tobey Maguire stands out from other actors as a result of his incredible ability to convey emotion through his face which earned him a golden-globe nomination. Recently he’s transitioned into a producer who runs “Material Pictures,” with two recent financial success that have both been bought by Amazon (and consequently are available on Amazon Prime) like Brittany Runs A Marathon (2019) and Duked (2020).
