A humiliating debacle resulting from a sewing-related issue.

Sarge should have known better than to task Zero with repairing the Camp Swampy soldier's worn uniforms; the end-result of said buck-toothed farmer-boy's zealous-but-clueless tailoring efforts was a totally chaotic stitchuation with said duds --- a tangled mess of lumpy/crooked seams, sewn-shut cuffs and collars, errantly-placed buttons, puckered/wrinkled/gapping sleeves, etc.

Situations where a vacation does not conclude on time for reasons such as adverse weather that prevents departure or quarantine such as a pandemic breakout aboard a cruise ship.

Charlie and Freddie’s cruise vacation turned into a stuckcation when the authorities quarantined the entire ship for two weeks at its final port.

stuckation

A portmanteau of "stuck" and "vacation," referring to an involuntary stay at home resembling a vacation in some aspects. This situation typically arises due to external circumstances beyond one's control, such as inclement weather, global pandemics, or transportation strikes, where individuals are confined to their homes. Despite the restriction, the experience is somewhat leisurely or vacation-like, often involving activities not typically partaken in during regular home life, such as indulging in hobbies, binge-watching, or creative home projects.

After the blizzard hit, we were on a week-long stuckation, complete with homemade spa days, movie marathons, and indoor camping with the kids.
