A closed-minded person who sees all language in black and white with no exceptions. They are sticklers for one dictionary as their lone authority on every word. They are anal sticklers about language and they refuse to accept any new slang words as legitimate additions to a certain language. Esp., English.

The Scrabble buff was a "word puritan" and he refused to accept any coinage of a new word that was not from his authoritative source.

(1) a person who speaks of sex abstractly, in terms of moonbeams and sunsets, rather than pussy and cock; (2) someone who projects the misogynistic history of porn onto all erotic imagery; (3) a person incapable of celebrating the physical beauty of human bodies; (4) an unattractive person feigning sexual restraint, scholarly disinterest, and spiritual enlightenment in order to appear more soulful and attractive.

Neo-Puritan

Neo Puritans is a revival of puritanism in modern day society.
Neo Puritans are people who hold strong Christian values and are usually very right wing conservatives.
They believe in strong morals, are very anti sex or anything sexual in the media, are against the gay community and marriage, pro life, anti drugs, are very pro traditional values and try and police people to not adhering to Christian beliefs and authoritarianism. They are against dressing in a way that is revealing of the human body, and usually police their children on old mindsets involving sex and religion.

Neo Puritan is a person with a limited outlook who is unwilling to consider conservative, traditional ideas, perspectives or thoughts. Especially about new age subjects’ environmentalism, gay marriage, sexism, feminism, Antifa, vegan practices etc. they just want to censor you.

The Antifa and the Far Left, are as Neo-Puritan, and as narrow-minded as any religious Puritan of the 1600s.
