Simply put, a fake commercial.

Dude, I hate when I miss a great fauxmercial on Saturday Night Live thinking it's real when fast forwarding my DVR.

Someone who isn't really your friend but appears to be a friend in your online social networking. Typically someone you've never met, never will meet or have no intention of cultivating a friendship with outside of their appearance in your friends tally.
