A person that adds people on Facebook, or other social websites, in order to seem popular. They might not necessarily be good friends with them, or even know them that well, but they add them anyway to give others the impression that they're popular.

Bob: Did you see how many friends Dave has on Facebook? He must be a pretty cool guy.

Billy: No, he's just a face collector. He just adds a lot of friends to make himself look popular.

Colberting

Colberting is the act of posting a number of high-resolution images in a thread on an web forum in an attempt to make it difficult for other forum members to read, thereby either slowing or stoping the conversation occuring within it. In practice, pictures of Stephen Colbert are often used as the requisite high-resolution images, but any high-resolution images will do.

I wanted to read Kelly's tribute thread, but it looks like Mikey has been busy Colberting it, and when I opened it my browser crashed.

pic collector

1. A leery anonymous person who replies to your personal ad for the sole purpose of collecting your pics to inflate his or her poor ego. An encounter with a pic collector is always short and obnoxiously one-sided.

2. A one-liner with no identity or personality. Can't carry a conversation. Trades you pics that aren't even his, then cuts you off not because you're unappealing, but because he really has nothing to offer, not even common courtesy.

3. Closet-case paranoid voyeur. Can't handle rejection. Hides behind the Internet like a troll. Hardly gets laid but will collect your pics before rejecting you.

Me: Hey. Hot pic!
Him: Got face pics? Chest pics?
Me: Here you go. Yours?
Him: Have more pics? X pics? Wanna see your ass.
Me: Pic collector? Pic 4 pic!
Him: *sends you moar fake pics*
Me: Ok sent mine.
Him: *dissipates like a nasty fart*
