A Atwani (Arabic: عطواني) is a flamboyant man who usually resides in Iraq, more specifically Baghdad's Sadr City district, known for using excess amounts of hair gel and makeup. Atwanis often confuse Iraq's older population, as they are too gay to be straight, but too gay to be closeted gays.

Etymology: Al-Atwani is a common Iraqi surname. The term likely originates from Zuhair al-Atwani, an Iraqi wedding photographer known for filming Atwanis dancing and making out with other men at weddings.
