Don’t help someone who will try and harm or harass you.
Like being nice villagers in remote country who then attack you and as it suits them to receive aid and simultaneously fight you.

I told him Don’t Feed the Hand That Bites you as he was trying to to get on the good side of his upstairs neighbor that promptly dumped coffee on his laundry.

When someone purposely turns his/her bck on the certain someone that has been there for them in more ways than one. Supported taught cared for Just so they would or could make themselves look better or be important.

Don't shit in the hand that slaps you

To have respect for those who control your manners, paycheck, and just plain the way you act.

Such as.... 1) don't shit in the hand that slaps you as in your parents because they slap you with that hand by controlling your existence. 2) don't shit in the hand that slaps you as in your boss or supervisor because they control raises at review time and promotional futures. 3) don't shit in the hand that slaps you if of your wife or girlfriend because, well, we all know what she does with that hand don't we?

Another term used for "backstabbing", but especially referring to a subordinate individual that attempts to combat, or retaliate against, the powers that make/made him what he is.

"Osama Bin Laden tried to bite the hand that fed him by destroying the WTC (supposedly the CIA trained Osama for a Soviet invasion against Afghanistan). He'll pay for that, to say the least."

"Beware of the hand (that bites)" is the opposite of "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." It means to be wary of some people, especially those who can make a situation worse. Tony John coined this phrase.

Person 1: should we involve him? he might make matters worse.

Person 2: Beware of the hand (that bites).
