Get the Richfield, Wisconsin mug.Regardless of the other definitions of the town of Ridgefield in Connecticut, it really isn't much different or worse than any other suburban town in the United States. Sure, we are probably wealthier than many other towns, but behavior and people wise, we're nothing out of the ordinary.
Ridgefield is a town in Connecticut's Fairfield County. There are six elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and two private schools. Ridgefield has some of the best public schools in the country. The main street has many small (and extremely pricey) boutiques. There is also a candy shop and a pizza shop, where most of the kids in the middle schools and high school hang out after school on Fridays because there isn't a whole lot to do here. There is also a park in town, which is a popular teen hang-out spot as well.
Sports play a big role in Ridgefield. The students do have a lot of school spirit, but what's wrong with that? Ridgefield High School has relatively high scores on standardized test as well. Yes, and there are also the kids who drink and smoke, but honestly, what town doesn't have kids like that? Wherever you go, teens will always be experimenting with drugs and alcohol. The cops, however, don't really have much to do, so they will punish you severely for relatively minor infractions of the law. And contrary to popular beliefs, the schools in Ridgefield aren't populated with only jocks and sluts. Sure, we have our fair share, but what school doesn't? There are also the sexually active kids, but not everyone loses their virginity at 14 or 15, like many people claim. And there are many people who make large salaries, but not everyone drives around in $70,000 cars and live in $4 million houses.
Ridgefield is just like any other wealthy suburban town. The people who have added other definitions of Ridgefield describing how terrible this town is obviously are just disgruntled and have had bad personal experiences here. That doesn't mean that the town itself is a bad place, it just means that they have gotten involved with people who have made negative influences in their lives. Ridgefield may be boring, but it's not the suckish hellhole that people have made it out to be.

Its charming Main Street is lined with a plethora of clothing boutiques, restaurants of fine dining, pricey jewelry stores, glamorous flower shops, expensive hair salons, expensive toy stores, and fine wine shops. If you cannot already tell, this town and ALL of it's people (even the Ridgefield "poor") are extremely wealthy in comparison with the rest of the country as well as CT’s seven other counties. This wealth is evident everywhere you look. It is especially evident in the houses as well as in the people. Many of the houses are old colonial homes or either newly built custom-designed multi-million dollar mansions. The people also carry around an air of pretension, though a majority of Ridgefield’s residents are welcoming. Since the children have a lot of money (both from their parents and jobs they are forced to get to learn responsibility) they are able to afford pricey drugs such as heroin and cocaine, as well as a wide assortment of alcoholic beverages. Though this is a problem, as Fairfield County is the nation’s county with the highest drug and alcohol consumption, it can be overlooked by the great achievements made by the town’s students. Some achievements are that a good percentage of the high school seniors each year are accepted and sent off to Ivy League schools, anything lower than a 1300 on the SATs is considered terrible, and many state championships are won, especially in Soccer, Hockey, Lacrosse, Cross-country and skiing. But this is obviously because the parents can afford expensive private tutors for both academics and athletics. Oh and every next person drives a Jeep, it's a fact of life!

Every other house is a Korean family, and the public schools are only known for their outstanding music program. Everyone knows each other, and people talk behind everyone's backs. The only decent places to hang out is the park and the pool.

The population of the town comprises mostly of typical suburban families as well as senior citizens wishing to live in a quiet environment. However the real bullshit starts when you meet the youth of the town. Unless you enjoy extremely arrogant kids who talk shit and think they are urban thugs, you best stay out of Ridgefield. Sure, they'd probably shit their pants and cry the minute they step into an actual urban environment such as Camden or Newark, but that doesn't stop them from bragging about how tough they are and how much better they are than you.
Ethnicity-wise, Ridgefield is full of stereotypical white kids and Koreans. If you're Latino, Indian, Black etc., don't be surprised to be stared down by every other person. If that doesn't sound pleasing enough wait till you meet the cops who are so overly cautious that they make you feel uncomfortable.
Entertainment-wise, Ridgefield is as competent as a deaf DJ. Unless sitting on your ass all day excites you, you won't have much fun in this town. Your best option is to head to the nearby town of Edgewater, where you might actually have a good time
