overstand

It's one of those douchey terms used by Yorkies, Rastas, Moors (no disrespect to the latter two), and other so-called conscious people in an attempt to sound smart, smooth, above it all, etc. All it is is putting a cute spin on "understand," that's it. This word is a plague and the user can't hope to possibly be taken seriously.

And to correct another entry on this word, no, the Five Percenters do not use it, as any 5% worth his salt knows better.

Once again, it's cute and quite slick as slang, but only a fool would have "overstand" in the repertoire for serious discussion of anything.

Overstand these nuts.

In our tradition, we utilize this word most solemnly and seriously.

1) Contrary to 'understand': to accept as a fact or truth or regard as plausible WITH utter certainty. Legal usage is to EMPHASIZE one's comprehension of a matter, and to contract or not to contract absolutely <I overstand that I will not be making a plea; to overstand the matter>

2) to achieve a grasp of the nature, significance, or explanation of something, WITHOUT yielding jurisdiction, standing or status.

3) the ABSOLUTE possession of comprehension <I overstand that completely.>

You must overstand the law, and any resulting charges that are levied against you to maintain and protect your sovereignty.

when you can explain it so someone else; to completely "know"; to be able to explain a subject just like the person who explained it to you; having complete clarity on a particular subject or discussion; no gaps in the comprehension of a subject; the flip side of 'understand'

Overstandment

When you are in a relationship and either party has an exaggerated sense of the level of commitment or understanding you have between you, even though no real commitment or understanding has been discussed.

I think I have an overstandment with Jane. I told her I didn't want to have a relationship and wasn't into commitment, but now that we're having sex she's already talking about when we are getting engaged.

The condition a human experiences when they are experiencing an uncomfortable amount of sonder, to the point where their mind is overloaded with unpleasant or unhelpful thoughts.
