He is arguably most known for his song "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", a song/story about what happened in that horrible tragedy. Some of his other well-known songs include "Sundown", "Black Day in July", "Early Morning Rain" and many more.
Lightfoot has been having many health issues since 2002, and was even the victim of a death hoax in 2010. However the 81-year-old singer continues to perform to this day.

He comes out to everyone by Magnus crashing his wedding to Lydia Branwell, and walking down the isle towards Magnus and kissing him. Alec is a hard working 23 year old man, who is dedicated to his duties as a shadowhunter, but mostly dedicated to his love, Magnus, and his friends and family.
