(adjective) very depressed or sad, very gloomy, miserable, wretched, desolate, despondent, disconsolate, inconsolable, mournful.

I feel like I'm in such a purple funk today. I've been in a purple funk for months since I've been overwhelmed by all these health, financial, family, and employment problems.

Erie Funk

The very inevitable and unfortunate wave of despair and anger that results from spending extended periods of time in Erie, PA. It is believed to be caused by the town's lack of values as a whole from the highest to the lowest levels of city and social infrastructure. Another possibility may be the large quantity of elicit substances that travel to and through town which the youth helplessly fall victim to. Outsiders are most perceptible to this phenomenon. Though there is no known remedy, the lucky few who escape this do so by finding refuge with select good company.

Ed: yo I cant get out of this erie funk. Just leads to drinking and smoking everyday.

Dan: yeah me too man. Lets get out of town this weekend.
