street wise

When someone has a sense of, or knows how to handle themselves in a rough neighbourhood or ghetto. People can be street smart regardless of their style. It usualy depends on where or how they were raised. It also can mean how well someone can handle themselves in an unfamiliar neighbourhood or city streets.
Christos the greek wasn't a thug but he was raised in a ghetto neighbourhood and was street wise. He had no problem walking through a rough neighbourhood at night.
On the other hand Steve the wigger considered himself a thug but was raised in a fairly rich, high class neighbourhood. He wasn't street wise and when he needed to walk through the projects he was so afraid he almost shit his pants and took a cab home instead.

thrift store

A place that sells used clothing (and other items) for dirt cheap. Contrary to popular belief, thrift stores are not necessarily nasty or strictly for poor people. (Although some do smell like basement.) Yes, there's a lot of junk there, but you can find something nice if you look hard enough.
My preppy friends think it's weird that I like thrift stores. I just enjoy "treasure hunting" through the racks, and when I find a great deal on a cute piece of clothing, I feel like I've made a discovery. Besides, I don't want to spend more than I have to.

bourbon street

A street in New Orleans' french quarter. This street is the site of many U.F.B.'s(unidentified flashed boobs) also the home to the most powerful drink in N.O. the hand grenade. Three or four of these bad boys and even the most hard core drinker will be stumblin'. Also home to the 64oz plastic beer bottle filled with your drink of choice(my personal favorite). Mardi Gras and bourbon street go hand in hand(hints the U.F.B.'s). Often times sober visitors will find that on arrival to this famous street they are disgusted at the stinch of old beer, piss, puke, and that their feet stick to the brick streets, but as they leave they fully understand why the street is the way it is because by two or three in the morning they have managed to contribute by spilling a drink, throwing up somewhere, and pissing on someone's doorstep or any random place they can find to do so (just don't let N.O.P.D. catch you).
After a night on bourbon street they'll be so hung over they'll be tellin you. "Man, last night I got bourbon faced on shit street."
