A native gypsy prevention practice created by the Jewish population of Venice, Italy whereupon a poorly made sandwich (usually coated in a thick layer of expired dressing) is placed in the pouch assumed to behold one's wallet. Though hungry, the gypsies object violently when discovering this atrocious combination of nutella and salami. The wallet goes unscathed, deeming the Masciale prevention tactic a successful one at that.
