A portmanteau of “Yu-gi-oh” and “Incel”
Can be read as yugioh incel or yugioh celibate
Someone who is either voluntarily or involuntary celibate due to their love of the Yu-gi-oh anime and card game franchise. A Yugicel is typically a “Yugiboomer” who adores the original Duel Monsters series, but you can find ones that also don’t have sex because of their love for other series in the franchise. Their devotion to the series will know no bounds, no limitations. Typically you will either find them self-shipping (usually with Seto Kaiba or Pharaoh Atem) or extremely invested in any ship in the series (usually a mlm ship) or both at the same time. A Yugicel may have the chance to get laid in real life, but because the mentally compare every man/woman/ person to their fan interpretation of their yugioh boy crush, they struggle with putting in any real romantic investment into anyone.

“My crush on Yami Yugi is too big to let go of, I guess I’ll be a Yugicel forever”
“Who needs a real life relationship when I can just read Seto Kaiba/Reader fics? Guess that makes me a Yugicel”

Get the yuugh mug.Describes a certain demographic of people who watched the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Series on TV, and played casually with friends during the initial popularity. These are people who complain about broken cards and mechanics, the competitive scene, and long card text of modern Yu-Gi-Oh! cards when:
1. Cards around that era were arguably just as broken, if not more so. A good portion of cards on the Forbidden and Limited List (a list that restricts certain cards from being used in official tournaments) came out during the "ol' days" yugiboomers mention, and have never came off since.
2. Even during the initial launch of the card game, there was always a metagame. It was never JUST invented. There were always cards that were better than others, even back then (Ex: The 1900 Attack Gemini Elf was objectively better than the 1850 Attack Mechanicalchaser).
3. Card text is longer in modern Yu-Gi-Oh, but is infinitely easier to understand. This was due to a lot of unnecessary bloat in older card text, especially during the series' heyday. Some cards would have text that was completely unnecessary, or even not tell you entirely what the card did (Ex: the first few prints of Waboku did not say your monsters could not be destroyed in battle, even tho it was ruled to be that way in official tournaments and in video games).
While some complaints of modern Yu-Gi-Oh are exclusive to modern times, a lot of others were also there since the beginning as well.
