Shooting the moon

In the card game Hearts, shooting the moon is taking all available points.

The game of hearts is scored in a golf sort of way. The lower the score the better. Usually the game is played to 100; when one player reaches one hundred, the game ends. If playing for money, payoff is based on point differential, but it has many variations.
All hearts are worth a point each, and the queen of spades is 13.

So you have one of two objectives in each hand: sluff off as many hearts and the Queen as possible to stay low or ... if you think you have the hand, "shoot the moon" by capturing all the hearts and the queen. If you do, each of your opponents is "assessed" 26 points. (shooting the moon)

It's a great play, but a risky one. A player looking to shoot the moon often gets all but say 1 or 2 points. So instead of his opponents being hit for 26 each, they get zero and you would eat 24 points(if another player had, say, 2 hearts)

shooting star

A girl who has short and insincere relationships, moving quickly from one partner to the next, stringing people along and breaking each person's heart as she goes. After the Elliott Smith song, "Shooting Star."
Often, though, a shooting star can't help her behavior and, while she is largely unaware of its consequences, does it out of personal confusion rather than malice.

Person one: Man, I can't believe that Sara's going out with Jack already; she just broke up with Nick three weeks ago.

Person two: Yeah, soon Jack'll be moping over there in the corner as well; Sara's such a shooting star she'll be after some other poor bloke before too long.

Nigger Spooning

A game commonly played by whites where a group of Caucasians drive around town in search of an African American. When spotted, one member (not the driver) of the group throws a spoon at the black person yelling the word "NIGGER!" as loud as possible. If said person misses, the driver proceeds to jam on the brakes and the thrower must fetch the spoon and get back in to the car. However if the he/she hits the black person with the spoon, the driver proceeds down the road and it is the next person's turn.

Ron: Hey, me and a few of my friends went nigger spooning last night and it was so fun, Carl missed and a nigger kicked the shit out of him and he was rushed to the hospital after we bailed.
