Parallels can be drawn to the phenomenon of "post-irony," wherein absurd or questionable beliefs lie in a muddled grey area between sincerely held and ironic.
This seems to be the result of actual misogynistic beliefs being suppressed in the early 2010s "SJW" era in order to fit in with their peers and the later rebranding of those beliefs as a weird type of self-deprecating irony.
Post-misogyny can commonly be seen on social media, where memes about wanting a big tiddy goth gf were all the rage on twitter in 2017 and ostensibly "feminist", "leftist" men will brag about their sexcapades and complain about how horny they are.
