A person who is obsessed with someone or somebody. A personality trait where things are taken to an extreme

The person who takes that to the extreme:has food brought in, never communicates except when necessary, is only seen in the classroom or the library. This person is 'over the top' in trying to be the student with the top grades. That's far beyond driven.
