After winning the 1996 Australian Federal election John Howard slashed spending on Education, Health, Social Welfare blaming a budget deficit left by the previous government. No Child Left Behind on steroids and with a different name. Which the Democrats and some Republicans still support for some reason. Basically it's like Obamacare for education. Mark my words, it is going to be an even bigger failure than NCLB and will probably affect students with special needs especially negatively.

To be "shook to the core," you simply can not fathom something resulting you to be in a state in which you can not easily speak other words than "shook to the core." This is a verb used to properly demonstrate your feelings towards something or someone's actions or state of being.
