Pressure of Speech

Related to but not exactly like word salad. Tendency to speak rapidly and excitedly with an urgency not clear to the listener. Often the words get run together and are difficult to understand. Exhibited by schizophrenics, bipolars in a manic stage, and anyone under severe anxiety.

Normal:"And so we went to the Triple Tree to buy a new suit."
Pressure of Speech: "And so we-ent to the Treep to buy a newt."

The Free Speech Maneuver

A situation in when a person comments on another person's comment/opinion/statement/sentence and that other person claims they "have free speech and a right to an opinion" but then makes a biased claim stating that because of their free speech rights, that person should respect and not make comments about their comment/opinion/statement/sentence. Little does that person know is that Free Speech is a double standard.

Person 1: "I don't like black people."
Person 2: "Well I don't like you and I think your opinion sucks."

Person 1: "Hey this is America! I have free speech so shut up you asshole!"

Person 2: "Here we go again, The Free Speech Maneuver..."

Raptor Screech

1) A loud screech usually associated with a raptor or the few talented people who can do it. Can be a loud screech that is ear piercing and yet unusually harmonius

2) Raptorius-a sland word for cool or hot, often associated with a screech

"Dude that screech was raptorius!" or "Oh man that kid can do a Raptor Screech! he is soooo talented"

freedom of speech

I'd like to provide you all with some text i've recieved in a journalism class. The entire first quarter of the year was spent on the first amendment. Our rights of the first one inlclude ONLY these: Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and right to petition. For the freedom of speech part, there ARE some limits. Some legal limits. They are:

Clear and Present Danger
Fighting Words
Libel and Slander
Obscenity
Conflight with Other Legitimate Social Or Governmental Interests
Time, Place and Manner

So no, you dont have the legal right to say 'fuck you' on national television, or show your tits during a superbowl halftime show. I agree that we SHOULD be able to curse etc. as we feel, but there do need to be a few limits so that we dont abuse it. Just so everyone knows, the 5th one means that in times of crisis(war) the government can restrict it for security(idioticly). They can also place a gag order on the press during war and participants in a trial. I agree this is idiocy, but you have no constitutional right to tell someone to fuck themself on CSPAN.

Speech Geek

Sometimes misunderstood as a regular "geek," a Speech Geek is someone much, much more awesome! In fact, in high school, they're almost considered royalty. We have no problem getting up in front of people and speaking from the heart....especially when medals are included. Whether the speech is funny, boring, sad, or just makes no sense at all, Speech Geeks are probably the coolest people on the face of the earth, no exceptions.

Guy 1: Why is that other dude in front of the classes yelling?
Guy 2: He's a Speech Geek.
Guy 1: What a nerd.
Guy 2: You have no idea what a Speech Geek is, do you? Yeah, you're an idiot.
