janky

adjective used to describe a person, place or thing which is questionable, fucked up, wrong, strange, broken down, undesirable, and/or just some thing you can't think of another word for. The origin of this work is explained somewhat in the conversation example. Friends and I were sitting around drinking coffee one morning, and I was bitching about my empty cup when my friend blamed the lack of coffee on the "janky ass coffee maker." I have since heard the word in the movie Friday.

Jekyll & Hyde

Jekyll & Hyde was a Broadway musical in the late 90's written and composed by Leslie Bricusse and Frank Wildhorn. It's based (if rather loosely) on the novel "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson. The musical enjoyed a decent Broadway run and was a rather good show.
Unfortunatly, towards the end of its run David Hasselhoff was cast in the role of Jekyll/Hyde. He completely massacred the music and sadly his pitful performace has been captured on DVD for all eternity. Fans of the show or "Jekkies" often harbor an intense hatred for Hasselhoff because of the stigma he set for the show.
Jekyll & Hyde has several memorable songs including "This is the Moment", "A New Life", "In His Eyes" and "Bring on the Men" (which was not actually featured in the Broadway version").
The show has a number of devoted fans (Jekkies) and can still be seen all over the world. Recently, it has been annouced that "Jekyll & Hyde" will soon be made into a major motion picture. It is scheduled to come out in 2007 however, the cast is still unknown at the moment. The film is bound to be successful and will most likely result in a surge of the fan base, much like in the case of "The Phantom of the Opera" (perhaps the most extrodinary musical/story ever (I myself have been a proud "phan" for 9 years)). Many fans eagerly await the film's opening and are completely baffled as to who will be in the cast (hopefully not David Hasselhoff).

Person 1: "I just saw "Jekyll & Hyde", it was really good, I was suprised. I've heard bad things about the show, apparently David Hasselhoff used to be in it."
Jekkie:"David Hasselhoff is the bane of my existance. I'll rejoice in his death."
Person 1:".......k...."

Satire of the popular weight loss and diet program "Jenny Craig"; Referring to a diet driven by methamphetamines causing rapid weight loss. Usually referring to a white trash crank addict who has recently lost a lot of weight. Originated in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Jennylighting

Jennylighting is a form of lighting where your soundings are ever so slightly visible enough to see. This form of lighting is usually found indoors in small to medium enclosed spaces and is lit by one object, while in more extensive or background areas, can sometimes be lit by more than one object.

Wow, you sure have some jennylighting there; I can barely see anything in the room.
