Dulles Detention Zone

Dulles Detention Zone (noun):

A soulless, fluorescent-lit purgatory where hope goes to die, tucked in the ass-end of an airport, reserved for the poor bastards flying commuter jets. A liminal space of broken spirits, where passengers—having paid top dollar—are herded like livestock into overcrowded, makeshift waiting pens with no amenities, no dignity, and no god. Delays stretch into eternity, announcements are cryptic riddles, and the only certainty is that you are not leaving anytime soon. See also: air travel purgatory, despair terminal, capitalist cattle stall
I was flying United, and they could not find a crew for the community flight on the last leg of the trip so I ended up in the Dulles Detention Zone
