Adjective used to describe the extravagant and snobbish characteristics of those in the upper class or those aspiring to be part of the upper class gliteratti who consume $750 dinners and scoff at the idea of spending less than $50 on a meal.

Derogatory word used for people from Salonica by people from Athens or Pireaus, who cannot understand the difference between pie (thick, soft crust) and bougatsa (thin, crispy crust). Literally means "bougatsa with minced meat".
