There is a word in German, "FREMDSCHÄMMEN" which means the same thing, however, I noticed a niche that needed to be filled for English speakers.

There are so many eejits on Britain's Got Talent, that I feel myself in a constant state of proxyshame whilst watching.

My friend fell in love with a lady; unfortunately, it was unrequited because she had serious proximity issues.

The offloading of work to someone else. A person who is Proxydexterous is adept at passing off work to the hands of others. This will often be disguised or explained as delegation but is more likely to be exploitation of seniority or some other point of leverage

A proximity boyfriend is someone who you can’t trust further than a 5 metre radius. They aren’t your actual “boyfriend” because he doesn’t use labels..but it feels like you’re in a relationship.
