Marching band-geek abbreviation for the mellophone, the loudest and most underappreciated instrument in the band. Second only in awesomeness to the French horn. Also commonly used to refer to a mellophone player.

A Mellington is very similar Merrington which a mid built tree throwing rugby player.
Which brings me on to Mellington which is a merrington with a melon shaped head.

Example;

‘’oi mate pretty sure that’s a mellington’’

‘’sorry mate that’s just a jack merrington’’
