Straw meme

Similar to the straw man argument, a straw meme is a logical fallacy presented in image form. Typical use is to assign misrepresented, exaggerated or completely false characteristics to an opposing viewpoint and then attack these characteristics instead of the actual viewpoint.

Typically, straw memes are met with supporting arguments such as, "sooooooo truuu!!!" and, "i'm steelin this!"

Straw meme examples:

Oh, you think (example A) because (example B)? Tell me more about (unrelated example C)!!!

If you're ok with (example A) but don't like (unrelated example B), then you're a hypocrite!!! Share if you agree.

Straight-through Jones

A rare and fortunate occurrence during busy hours found in car parks. The straight-through Jones is when two (vacant) parking positions line up end to end, allowing the lucky finder to drive straight through from one to other other negating the need to reverse in or out of said parking space.

Person 1: I will never find a parking spot at this rate!
Person 2: Oh look Dad, there's a straight-through Jones!

the action of cold shouldering former friends or affiliates due to a non-amicable severance of ties. Usually acted out by adults of religious organizations and high school students.

1. I went to church this morning and got Taken to Walnut Street! Nobody talked to me all morning.
2. (girl 1) My boyfriend dumped me! (girl 2) If he comes crawling back, Take him to Walnut Street!
3. Several church members have left us due to differences of opinion with things going on within the organization, so if you see any of these people in day-to-day life, Take (Him/Her/Them) to Walnut Street!

When you’re married,and afraid to get divorced,so you go on Facebook to scope for strange dick...In addition,you act like you’re single,and put for a relationship status that you’re “In a Relationship”,when your sorry ass is in reality,married...”Hey,Barbara!”....”Is that strange dick you’re dicking down worth it?”...”Is the strange dick worth jeopardizing your marriage?”..............”Fuck,yeah,it is!”

Strauss-Kahn

Named for the infamous French IMF head, to "Strauss-Kahn" means to force oneself onto a weaker person. Usually involving some form of exhibitionism, "Strauss-Kahn'ing" most often occurs between an older man of status and a younger working class woman.

He came out of the bathroom and totally "Strauss-Kahn'd" that chick.

Unlucky Strike

A Lucky Strike cigarette that has been turned upside-down and stored. Although this would bring luck were it any other cigarette, a Lucky Strike is naturally lucky, thus turning it upside down actually counteracts the luck.

- Whoa man, don't flip that one - you want an Unlucky Strike?

- I heard of this one guy who flipped a Lucky Strike, two minutes later a tree fell on him, then he got struck by lightning, then his wife divorced him.
