When your trying to make conversation with a girl/guy you met recently, either A.) online B.) via text message or C.) in person, and she/he responds to any of your questions with blank stares, one letter text messages using the words; oh, cool, or nice. or nothing at all until you have to try an change the subject because the situation has gotten awkward.

Emily: Yes

Emily: No

black brick

Any of the several models of the ThinkPad laptop computer, manufactured first by IBM and later by Lenovo. So called because of its black color and simple rectilinear appearance. Regarded as efficient, reliable, sturdy for a laptop, and relatively economical. Ubiquitous in business.

My old Dell died, so I bought a basic black brick, a slightly used IBM T-41, and I'm happy with it. It's not hi-res, I wouldn't use it for anything fancy, like online gaming. But it works well with WiFi, it gets my work done quickly and smoothly with very little trouble, and it only cost me $500.

Thick As A Brick

The definition of "masterpiece." Jethro Tull's definitive progressive rock concept album. The whole album is one 45-minute long song. The lyrics appear to have some deep hidden meaning on the surface, but delving deeper, they are actually satirical, done with Monty-Python style humor. The music is complex, seemless, moving, and is undefinable to just one genre.

The mainstream can go listen to their H.I.M., 50 Cent, beyonce, or my chemical romance. That's their choice (a choice that's "thick as a brick" indeed). I'll go listen to some REAL music... (puts on some Jethro Tull)
