The synonym of the deadly illness called cancer. Could be used as the word itself. Originated from the word mutation. Could also be used in video game terminology.

go mute yourself

A post-coronavirus way of telling someone to either:

a) shut the fuck up;
b) go away;
c) go annoy someone else;
d) an all inclusive phrase of general distaste which includes a-c as well.

During the coronavirus times, global usage of video call software increased immensely. As some had access to better technology than others, sometimes people would mute themselves (or others) if they made too much noise, had too much white noise on their line or sometimes just because they were being annoying.

"My friend was being a dickhead in our Zoom chat, so I told him: 'go mute yourself!'

Trying to make a point during a phone call while your phone is on mute. Usually occurs during a conference call.

Bob's point was a mute point because no one could hear as he had put his phone on mute.

mute-ant

A person seemingly unable to exchange simple pleasantries such as "hello", "how are you", and "goodbye". Often someone encountered only briefly (i.e. a cashier) but they may also be someone you see every day, such as a co-worker.

I just went to the drugstore to buy some toothpaste, and ended up having a one-sided conversation with the cashier.

Normal Person: Hi, how are you?
Mute-ant: ...
Normal Person: How much for the toothpaste?
Mute-ant: ...
Normal Person: (reads register and pays) Thanks, have a good night, you fucking mute-ant.
Mute-ant: ...
