faking smart

A person who puts on glasses or uses pretentious words to try and fool people into thinking that they are smart.

I had a date with this female college professor and I was afraid of looking stupid, so I put on some glasses, a cordory jacket with those elbow patches and memorized some four syllable words out of the dictionary.
