A dress code term commonly used in ski resorts and weddings in locations such as Colorado. Slightly dressed down from business casual, it typically allows for functional footwear, jeans, and a collared shirt. A tie would rarely be worn, but a sport coat would be acceptable.

The invitation suggested mountain casual, so I'm wearing Timberlands and jeans.
