TikTok has ruined the meaning of The Ick by people labelling Deal Breakers, Pet Peeves, Turn Offs and Red Flags. The ick is an epiphany, a gut instinct, a wake-up call telling you to get out of a relationship. The misuse makes this visceral word lose its power. It's not petty and it's important to listen to it, don't deny your feelings.
