Australian slang for ‘sausage’. Also short for ‘snag sanga’ or ‘sausage sandwich’, a sausage served on a single piece of bread, often sold outside large stores, such as Bunnings, during weekend events called ‘sausage sizzles’.

I’m gonna head to Bunnings for a snag.

Snags : when putting alot of work into pursuing a female/male and being rejected at the crunch time for reasons that the female/male being pursued is attracted to the opposite sex or is old enough to be the pursuers parent.
