teach a class

1. A sarcastic way of letting a person know that whatever they are doing at a particular moment in time isn't working for them.
2. (rare) A genuine way of letting a person know that they are highly skilled or proficient in a certain area. Almost impossible to differentiate this one from definition "1"

1. (Drunk girl is dancing funky, as if having convulsions, at a club. Walk up to her and tap her on the shoulder): "Wow! Can you teach a class on dancing??"
2."How do you do it, man? You're a true BLG. Can you teach a class??"

Teach For America

A bunch of full of them selves corps members who ruin public schools. They think they are gracing the public school system just by showing up. They are usually really bad at what they do. Treat teaching like a popularity contest, act inappropirately with students, and make up fancyfull data to support their self serving orginization.

TFA consistently lies about their data--that is common knowledge--if this data is coming from TFA . . . don't trust it! If you want to make your data show "value-added" gains, look to TFA to learn how to fudge.

Teacher A : "Why are all my students rude, distrespectful and have no skills?"

Teacher B: "Oh,, there was a Teach for America teacher in there before you."

A somewhat pejorative term for Teach for America. Everyone knows that they will teach for a maximum of two years, continue on to Harvard Law, and pretend that they changed the world.

Yea, I hate those Teach for Next Week kids, what a bunch of elitist snobs.

Teach For America

A swarm full of college graduates who look like they just graduated from high school. Teaches in poor Urban areas and believe in helping the education gap and practice educational equity. Most often dress inappropriate, want to be friends with the students, and can be very malicious. Most of them are a bunch of young Liberals who favor Barack Obama. Who stalk high school students than you average teacher. Not a real teacher. Aren't certified. A program with a dedication for two years promising leadership and helps pay off their student loans. Most of them come from prestigious Liberal Arts college and don't major in anything useful.

My teacher's major is in English. She decided to join Teach For America because she didn't really know what else to do with her degree.
