A word that most corporate industries calls us so that they can forget that we are people & that we; every one of us matters. A consumer no longer matters because they are no longer a person. Even customers are no longer always right, they are a pest that must be appeased not understood.
Consumers buy a product, therefore are willing accept all defects or ingredients related to that product? Because all of the loved ones that we feed, cloth & care for with these products; that may have antibiotics, "natural flavor" (unregulated), hidden chemicals and defective merchandise make them matter less? It is a word for people of little importance or value compared to the profit that most industries see, as larger than our lives.
Disrespectful word for people who lamely buy their product, who are at the bottom of the food chain and the term they use for establishing our insignificance. Thus, burdening us to purchase poor quality products for insignificant consumers who don't merit our worth or their acknowledgment as human beings or people. It's a word to group all walks of life into one entity as if we are one mindless idiot; but if you don't buy that product, you may not feel affected. Using the word consumers; means and is inferred as a single entity that consumes; treated like a creature that runs along consuming whatever is in it's path.

Corporations sells items to consumers that are made to break so that they can sell them the same item again and again.
Consumers are used to being taken advantage of, so many don't complain when they could.
Small businesses should thrive to provide consumers with personal attention since many Corporations don't want to bother and cannot be contacted by phone.
