crapwagon

This term was coined by Canadian racing driver and 2003 CART champion Paul Tracy to describe the cars used in the rival IRL series. These cars tended to have a nose up attitude that cause them to fly, especially on oval tracks. These cars, built by Dalara to specifications created by the IRL, were extremely dangerous as evidenced by the number of serious injuries and deaths suffered by IRL drivers over the course of many years. Unlike the aforementioned DP01, in which only one driver was seriously injured. It should be noted that the ChampCar series which ran the DP01 fixed the issue that cause this injury before its next race, hence there was no re-occurrence.

The IRL crapwagon's tendency to literally fly was responsible for multiple career ending injuries and several deaths.
