brogrammer

Brogrammer, noun., a bro who somehow learned to program, but would deny it in any social situation. A brogrammer does not have side projects and usually programs while listening to Dave Matthews Band, much to the irritation of his fellow programmers.

Noam: "Hey Jack, your a little late, can you rewrite this parser for me? It's not quoting HTML code."

Jack: *takes off Northface backpack and removes iPhone earbuds--Ants Marchin audibly playing* "Yea, lemme just get settled first."

Noam then comments on the IRC channel that Jack doesn't go on (because he thinks freenode is what happens at the bars on Thursdays at 5pm) and says, "man this intern jack is a real brogrammer, I'm glad he's gone at the end of month."

Brogrammers before hoegrammers

The unwritten law that your male programming friends should always come before your female programming acquaintences. Most frequently used when a fellow brogrammer is bending over backwards to accommodate a hot hoegrammer's needs, while spurning his brogrammers.

Scott: Sorry, guys, Erica needs me to rewrite how our PHP Framework is integrating with Drupal in order to make her module function properly.

Jack: WTF, brogrammers before hoegrammers, dude.

Scott: But dude, she showed me major cleavage when she leaned over to ask me!

Jack: ...Can I help?

A popular, cool, or otherwise normal person who has become intrigued by the fun of programming. Usually unliked by the nerdy programmers for getting all of the friends and the girls, while creating cool and useful applications.

Jordan: "Aight, we'll smoke a bowl tonight then."

Courtney: "Sounds good, cya then ;)"

Milton: "Dad-Gummit Jordan, you're such a brogrammer."

Jordan: "Chill dude your day will come."
