Powerful gangster of the 1920-30's who ran a successful, illegal bootlegging operation. Oddly, he was eventually taken down for income tax evasion in 1931.
My great-grandfather met Al Capone in an elevator once. He got the hell out on the next floor though.

Al Capone was a Chicago Gangster and bootlegger responsible for the death of many people. However, he was not put in jail for life because of these many crimes, but because of tax evasion.
To be Al-Caponed is when someone punishes you severely for a minor crime because they can't get you on the major crime.

"Dude I heard you got kicked out of the club last night for being under 21"
"No man, they couldn't prove I was under 21, so they Al-Caponed me and kicked me out for swearing at the bartender."
"Dude, that sucks..."
