Return on Capital. Net income (or profit) before extraordinary items, interest expense and income taxes, divided by weighted average cost of capital (WACC). Shows how effectively a company is employing its capital (shareholders' equity and borrowings) to generate profits. Still widely used to evaluate financial institutions, but of limited use in other sectors.
"Cash flow remains strong and ROC employed moved up from 9.6% to 10.1% on a moving annual total (MAT) basis...."

An acronym for the phrase "Routine of Command" pioneered in the short-lived Hulk Hogan action show Thunder in Paradise. A Routine of Command is a series of steps that is taken to prepare Hogan's superboat, Thunder, to activate a special feature of the boat, such as its stealth capability or deployment of its special hydra-thruster to reach speeds of 500 miles per hour.
Martin "Bru" Brubaker: "Starting ROC for hyperspeed."
Thunder (boat): "Hyperspeed Routine of Command activated!"
Thunder (boat): "Hyperspeed Routine of Command activated!"
