An alternative to “gay panic” which is sometimes used by queer people to describe when they see a cute person that they want to talk to, but don’t at the same time. Gay panic is also a term used by homophobes to get a lighter sentence with hate crimes, claiming that they were afraid that the gay/trans person would harm them. It is better to use Gay Crisis as it is not a term used by homophobes to excuse themselves from hate crimes
