Conboy

Conboy is the name of an Irish clan. It is also a surname. The surname derives from the Gaelic O'Conbhuide meaning "descendant of the yellow hound", "yellow hound", and "fast runner." The name was first found in northwest Ireland in the province of Ulster. Generally, people with Conboy as their surname commonly have red, dark brown or black hair; some also have lighter hair such as light brown or blonde but it is less common. During the Great Famine of Ireland back in 1845 to 1849, the majority of the Conboys were sent of to Canada and the United States of America due to poverty. A portmanteau of the words con and cannot (itself a contraction of can not). Connot describes the inability or incapacity to do something, but dubiously.
