Today I was reading MLIA and thinking about how my parents never do anything average. Just then dad ran in excitedly to show me little hats he bought to put on Easter eggs after you dye them. MLIA.

A phrase used in an attempt to modify sweeping generalization into inductive argument by reducing the circumstances under which the generality might be considered false, given the semantics of averaging.

On average, goods that cost more energy to produce are better than goods that cost less energy to produce. You know, like a steak versus a salad. Or a Rolex versus a Timex. They're just better - I'm just saying - on average.
