Savestate abuse

When you are playing on an emulator, you can do an instant save of your game, known as a savestate. After you die in said video game, you can load your savestate. When you use savestates to totally avoid death, or to cheat at the game, it is said you are savestate abusing.

update ambush

On your laptop you mistakenly select "Shutdown" instead of "Sleep". Windows begins the update process and request that you do not power off or unplug your computer. This usually occurs when your preparing to leave the library after a long night of studying.

Girlfriends text: "Hey you want to come over?"
You text: "Sure...leaving the library and will be there in 5 minutes!"

<Time Elapse>
Knock Knock...
Girlfriend: "You're 3 hours late..."
You: "Sorry I got update ambushed right when I was about to leave"
Girlfriend: "Oh no! Are you alright?"
You: "Yeah I'm fine."
Girlfriend: "What are you supposed to do?"
You: "Well usually I give up, smoke a bong full of Fruit Loops, and head to bed."

DSLR Abuse

When inexperienced photographers have a professional camera but don't know how to use it properly, thus resulting in out-of-focus, blurry, or aesthetically displeasing photos.

Ew... those kids on yearbook have a $3000 camera but they can't take photos. Total DSLR abuse.

When you need to do a shit badly; but then suddenly disappears only to come back an hour later with extreme force

may result in shitting yourself or a poo tickle

Example One:
Aw man! i was with Bek last night and we started messing around...and wen she took off my pants i had a surprise shit ambush!

The other day John was trying to play a joke on me and mooned me from his car; only to have the joke on him wen he bent over and had a shit ambush all over his steering wheel

If all else fails, the abuser recruits friends, colleagues, mates, family members, the authorities, institutions, neighbours, the media, teachers – in short, third parties – to do his bidding. He uses them to cajole, coerce, threaten, stalk, offer, retreat, tempt, convince, harass, communicate and otherwise manipulate his target. He controls these unaware instruments exactly as he plans to control his ultimate prey. He employs the same mechanisms and devices. And he dumps his props unceremoniously when the job is done.

One form of control by proxy is to engineer situations in which abuse is inflicted upon another person. Such carefully crafted scenarios of embarrassment and humiliation provoke social sanctions (condemnation, opprobrium, or even physical punishment) against the victim. Society, or a social group become the instruments of the abuser.

- He keeps sending his friends over to ask for stuff he left behind after he had moved out!
