Nowadays it is filled to the brim with almost only fanfiction, with nearly no original work besides the ones you can see on the main page, and even then those aren’t very original either, using many common tropes(also known as a cliché) now associated with Wattpad writing. Wattpad started to really become more recognized as in 2009, the mobile application had been downloaded millions of times.
The site hasn’t gone to hell just yet, with a very active userbase and very friendly people if you know where to look. It currently, as of 2019, contains over 60 Million users and many stories still being published every day.

I publish my works on Wattpad. My first story hasn’t gotten much attention, but hopefully if I keep writing more chapters people will see it.
