distracted dining

Diverted attention while eating either solo or with others. May occur in a private residence, or at a restaurant or public event. Minor distractions may include obnoxious people in the vicinity; major disturbances may include medical or police emergencies.

I had a distracted dining experience last Thanksgiving. My sister's baby wouldn't stop crying and fussing.

A guy collapsed in the cafeteria the other day. We had to call paramedics. It was definitely distracted dining.

Someone who distracts others, themselves and/or are distracting in general. They can distract through various means, all involved with the purpose of not getting work/homework etc finished.
