The Karley Effect

1. When your friends start to adopt your lingo because you use it so much

2. When you somehow make people fall in love with you without trying
1. Charlie: I’m not drinking tonight
Mitchell: are the rents staying in?

2. Charlie: this girl won’t leave me alone, I think she’s in love with me. It’s the karley effect

The Trainline Effect

An observable effect that results in the myopic and inattentive rejection of newer technology without logic and reason, and accusing the technology of causing issues that are simply human error (while the technology provides accurate information based on the request made by the user). This can be observed amongst large samples of the railway workforce.
I observed The Trainline Effect in action as the militant RMT rep once again blogged about a broken ticket machine, exclaiming “COMPUTERS NEVER WORK!”
