In the event of going on a date with your significant other, a family relative from your significant other somehow finds a way coincidentally to sabotage said date by creating last minute plans

Manzano Phenomenon- John and Valerie had plans to go on a hiking trip two weeks ahead of time. John planned for said date, but before the day of the date. A family member of Valerie decided to want go to an amusement park instead. She then canceled said plans to be with her family.

The girlfriend phenomenon is the scientific name for when a male gets in some type of romantic relationship and becomes more attractive. The guy who may be a six when single becomes a nine when taken but if they become single again they will return to being a six. Men are hit on more when they have a girlfriend than when they are single. It is natures way of saying fuck you to all of the guys in the middle of the pack.

Ron Don Phenomenon

The Ron Don Phenomenon is a memory error that occurs when you mix up two similar pieces of information despite intentionally memorizing the correct answer at an earlier time.

Due to the easy confusion of the two items, you explicitly tell yourself the correct piece of information, as if cementing it in your brain. However, when trying to recall the information later, you can't remember which of the two items you foregrounded as the correct answer.

The crux of the Ron Don Phenomenon is the fact that you insist that you will remember the correct piece of information but precisely fail to do so at a later time.

"I used to have a bus driver who told us his name at the start of every school year, and, every year, I'd forget whether his name was Ron or Don. When the next year came around, I was sure that I'd remember this time. But not soon after, I'd forget again. It's the Ron Don Phenomenon!"
